I was just fixed the correct runtime/airtime for "Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary", as seen here. I wanted to make sure what I had done was correct, so I went to https://www.tvmaze.com/schedule?date=2015-02-15&Schedule%5Bcountry_enum%5D=235 to check it out.
To my surprise, I saw there were multiple errors below the table, more specifically, one of them was regarding this episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. I really didn't understand what was wrong where, since the SNL 40th special couldn't air from 8-11:30pm with Brooklyn Nine-Nine right between that at 8:30pm. I didn't really know the history of BNN, so it took me a few minutes before I realized (thanks to The Futon Critic) that this was a show that had originally aired on FOX, later moved to NBC.
So basically, the problem lies that despite the season being listed as FOX, the data from the show's main network (currently set to NBC) is being taken rather than any of the past seasons, which are properly listing the different networks.
So my question is... is this anything that can be fixed at all, or is this just a (unfortunately) this-is-how-it-is case? With I'm sure many other shows changing networks over the years, this is making loads of these type of errors pop-up on the detailed schedules of the past. If there's no way to have the accurate data (of the past) lineup correctly on the schedules of the past, maybe there's something that could be done to disable these types of errors from appearing after a certain amount of time (1-2 years, or however many months or days, or etc.) has passed?
While I'm sure we might sometimes want to go back and check out certain past days' schedules, I don't necessarily think we want users to be going back to days' schedules of the past and trying to correct information they believe to be incorrect due to errors like this being displayed, when it's actually simply something like a network change that isn't synced to display for the past.
