SCTV

Can you clarify when new versions of a show are listed separately versus when all the episodes are lumped together? Specifically in regard to the Canadian sketch comedy series SCTV, which started out as 30-minute show called Second City TV on Global, then moved to CBC and changed its name to SCTV, then moved to NBC in the United States and expanded to 90 minutes under the name SCTV Network 90, then moved back to Canada as a 45-minute show on Superchannel under the name SCTV Channel.

The entire set of episodes is listed here under the name SCTV Channel but the original 3 seasons are ALSO listed here under the name SCTV and the NBC episodes are ALSO listed under the name SCTV Network 90. Should they be lumped or split, or is this duplication of listings the proper way to deal with such a show?

My understanding was that these were really all the same show (the cast members and writers changed over the years, of course), and the differing runtimes were based on what the network that was airing them wanted.   So if I were making the decision they would all go under Second City TV (SCTV).

I think i agree with @tallanvor and would say the only reason we'd split is if we can find any historical official proof that the reboots were ever classed as 'Season 1' etc. If we have that then wed have a reason to possibly split.
