Site Extremely Unresponsive

Has anyone else noticed that this site suddenly becasue unresponsive a few days ago ? Seems every time I try to make a selection it takes 20-30 seconds before any action happens. Also links aren't selectable on a newly loaded page for the same 20-30 seconds. Right now the site is virtually unusable for me. I am running a MacBook Pro running Sequoia 15.7.1  and haven't made any changes on my end that I am aware of that caused this change. I am using Safari 26.0.1. Seems to run OK on my iPad .. ...

So an update ... I cleared my browser history for this site and that seems to have fixed whatever was going on. Guess I should have tried that before posting but maybe if someone else is having this issue also then this will help. Hopefully that was all it takes.

Been having this same issue about a month now. Chrome on Windows 10. Gives a lot of messages (in my language) about: "Tab using a lot of resources, and slows the browser". Gives options to "fix" and which just makes it inactive, and results problem appearing again when I make tab active. Option "Close tab" does just that. Problem again, when I enter tvmaze.

Clearing history doesn't fix problem for me.

Just as an addendum my problem on MAC OS 26 has't gone away. Every few days I need to clear history to make the site useable again. I would say there is a massive memory leak in the site somewhere. Just a guess but that is all I can think of that would make resources extremely sluggish over time that a clear history would fix. I guess it is with this site because I don't see this on any other site I visit regularly.

But the question is why does it only affect a few users and not everyone? We have to wait till @david looks into it.

I came here specifically looking to see if this was a known issue and if there was a fix. The problem for me was 100% the ads. An adblocker solves it 100% but that's not good for the site and not my preferred solution. I'd rather the site looked into what the ad service, or specific ads are doing that is killing the site performance and try to fix that instead.

That aligns with my suspicion.

Can you check again and tell me if there are any issues now?

DPh2902 wrote 9 days ago: 1

Unfortunately I can't.  I have recently become a premium user and have not had any issues since I did that. Hopefully one of the others who is having this issue can reply  for you.

Try 30 days of free premium.
