Questions About AKAs

So I thought one of the purposes of the AKA section was so if people search for the title they know a show by (different language, whatever), it still pops up for them. But every time I search "MASH" the TV show M*A*S*H does not pop up, even though one of its AKAs is "MASH" (http://www.tvmaze.com/shows/665/mash/akas). But when you search for some of the foreign titles of the show that are in the AKA section, (http://www.tvmaze.com/search?q=%D0%9C%D0%AD%D0%A8) or (http://www.tvmaze.com/search?q=%D0%A7%D0%B5%D1%80%...), it does show up for them. Am I missing a step here that would make this show discoverable by simply typing MASH? Genuinely confused here...

Yes and no.

AKA's should only be used if the show has a truly different name, not as a "hack" to aid the search function for strange show names like "M*A*S*H".

The search function intentionally ranks matches based on an AKA lower than matches based on the real show names, to prevent AKA's from overtaking the search results. Because of that, searching for "mash" currently returns results that are deemed more similar to "mash" than "m*a*s*h" before considering the AKA's.

I'll have to fix this properly instead, and delete the AKA afterwards. Moving to Bugs :)
