Episode 1 Episode

Episode 1

This is a great series full of amateur sleuthing, great food, romance & emotion-driven drama. It really draws you in.

I'm 73. I've been reading detective stories and other literature for about 65 of those years. My late-wife, who was also a fan of detective novels, taught high school honors English & literature classes. She had one detective novel published and was working on several others when she passed.

I only wrote the preface to show that I have read or watched a ton of such stories. If you like amateur detective novels and haven't watched this series, I strongly urge you to watch the first episode. Hopefully, you'll agree with me and watch them all.

I hope the series is renewed. I wait with much anticipation the next season?

Answering the Call Episode

Answering the Call

I am so glad they returned the program to the city where it began.

In my opinion, it is only in New Orleans that you find the "true characters" like Keeley, Titus, Dan, and Holly. that made the show what it was when it began. It is also my opinion that the show began to go downhill when it left New Orleans.

I think the show is lacking a bit of atmosphere without the addition of NOPD officers in action but at least it's back where it belongs.

Roux the Day: A Gourmet Detective Mystery Episode

Roux the Day: A Gourmet Detective Mystery

I must say that I was quite impressed with how Cajun & Creole gumbos were correctly presented and how they described the difference between them. I lived in the New Orleans metro area for 35 years with a couple of years spent in Cajun country a little further west. Part of that time, I was a licensed New Orleans tour guide and became very familiar with Louisiana food, culture, history, & music and I authored The Complete Idiot's Travel Guide to New Orleans. I also spent many of those years on offshore oil rigs as a chief steward; cooking, for mostly Cajun, roughnecks & other members of the oil industry. Most shows wouldn't bother with such details. Kudos!

I don't have comments about this specific episode but I've watched all of the episodes and I love the series. I hope it is renewed for more seasons.
