Ratings Roundup for the Week of March 8, 2020

CBS wrapped two of its freshman comedies last week. The Unicorn and Carol's Second Act were both up a tenth from the previous week and will likely squeak season two renewals. Hawaii Five-0, SEAL Team, and SWAT were all up a tenth. SEAL Team and SWAT are both in their third season, so a renewal is practically guaranteed. NCIS: Los Angeles was down a tenth, NCIS: New Orleans was steady, though on the low side. Both shows should be easily renewed.

Chances are, however, the show is likely cancelled. Indebted gained a tenth, while Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist lost a tenth. Both shows are done in a few more weeks.

The next few weeks will see a number of season/series finales. Upfronts are the week of May 10. Will your favorite make it through to another season?

This is just a guess but, I think we may see borderline shows get a renewal this year because pilot production is halted. Networks need time to plan and a known, even if weak, product beats the heck out of an unknown. Also, in person upfronts are canceled. I guess they're going to go online?

Well dang, just watched the finale of Lincoln Rhyme and with how it ended, I'm kinda hoping there will be a second season...even if it'll only be a summer season or mid-season one with 10 episodes.

I think I mentioned before if Fox has to choose between Deputy and Prodigal Son, I hope Prodigal Son is the one that gets renewed, even though I like both. What a bummer about Perfect Harmony.

LadyShelley posted 4 years ago

Perfect Harmony is cancelled. It did not receive any episode extension at mid-season. FBI Most Wanted is a safe bet for renewal. The Goldbergs should be renewed. If ABC renews Black-ish and Mixed-ish, they have no excuse not to renew Schooled as well, since it has better ratings than either if the other two. Of your list the only real question mark is the coin toss FOX will need to make regarding Deputy and Prodigal Son.

Of the ones that I've been watching this season, almost all have been renewed or in the case of Hawaii Five-0 is ending. Still waiting to hear about the Goldbergs, Schooled, Perfect Harmony, FBI: Most Wanted, Prodigal Son, and Deputy. Still have to watch the last 2 episodes of Lincoln Rhyme, though if that one doesn't get a second season I won't be heartbroken. It would be nice if both Prodigal Son and Deputy get renewed. I've watched, or at least kept the channel on in between Young Sheldon and after Mom, so I've watched bits and pieces of the Unicorn and Carol's Second Act. Not sure what's making the Unicorn so popular, and while I'm not much of a fan of Patrica Heaton, her show looks entertaining.
