Mary Elizabeth Jennifer Rachel Abergavenny Yiddell Slocombe, or "Betty" or "Mrs. Slocombe", was the senior associate for the lady's apparel at Grace Brothers. Mrs. Slocombe is adopted, and marital status is currently separated. She, along with Mister Humphries, are the two starring characters. As both of them dress in drag for fun, and are lavishly flamboyant, they get along perfectly. She even fancied him for the longest time. However, she her self is fancied by Morris Moulterd, the "Mister Harman" character of Grace & Favour while Mister Humphries is fancied by his daughter Mavis. She is also known for owning "Pussies" which she has the Felines with her at Grace Brothers and also Millstone Manor. She is very stern and finishes her sentences with "and I am Unanimous in that!" while other times she is drunk. Despite finally being equals in Grace & Favour, her former boss Captain Peacock and Miss Lovelock have a romance of their own which causes tension between the other ladies. In order to provide the largest amount of guest rooms at the manor, she usually shares a room with Shirley Brahms. .
