Really terrifying. I struggled between anguish, tension, and the need to yell at the TV all the time. The terror of the real, even when it is unusual and extraordinary.
I was 14 at the moment of incident, and remember very well all the lies that have been told us by the papers and TV for a first few days. Only when it became impossible to conceal, the actual truth started leaking out. And when the KGB archives was de-classified a year ago, it appeared that not even at the end we were told the whole truth.
The episode was terrifying, because it shows the ugly truth. This is exactly how the things were done by the f.cking "comrades".
Impressive how ignorant the leaders were towards the consequences of the nuclear disaster like chernobyl, while being warned consecutively by staff. Excellent episode though!
