Episode Discussion

The episodes directed by Tapping are always my favourites. A great episode that did the work of two or three. CGI wood face felt a little weak, (now that we are in the era of deepfakes.) I guess they didn't have the budget or the time for prosthetics.

Seeing Khalida being pragmatic in the moment, caused me to leap up and cheer.

I had three issues with the script. [SPOILERS!] Firstly, Penelope was already infected, with no known cure - so the unit are guilty of euthanasia at worst, (and if I was infected I'd want my suffering to end.)

Secondly, I found myself wanting to have a better understanding of the plague. "Show don't tell" was violated when Tally had to narrate, and we just had to accept it.

Thirdly, who is going to deal with Quinn's truck? (The one that she suggested that they take, before becoming the bus driver - while the bus guards are where? In the field next to the tornado?) Who were in the three black vehicles with the blues-n-twos? If police then they would find Quinn's truck and start to ask difficult questions.

Fairly minor quibbles, but I'm already hyped for next season.

This was a great episode in it's own right. But I have to give props to the series as a whole, which, in my opinion, displayed some of the best character growth and story progression of any show in the past few years.
