Channel 5 was the fifth terrestrial channel to launch in the United Kingdom in March 1997. The channel has undergone various management changes and is currently owned by Viacom International Media Networks, as of May 2014. The channel is most famous for becoming the home of reality series 'Big Brother' and it's spin-off 'Celebrity Big Brother', after Channel 4 axed the show in 2010. The reality show has proven the channel's most successful original series, with the channel now airing one civilian version of the series and two celebrity series each year. The channel is also the home of US dramas 'Body of Proof', 'Gotham', 'Under the Dome' and the 'NCIS' and 'CSI' franchises. The channel also has some success with Australian imports, including soaps 'Neighbours' and 'Home and Away' and drama series 'Wentworth'. Original programming on the network includes 'The Wright Stuff', 'Suspects' and 'Benefits Britain'.
