Peter Jankowski is president and chief operating officer of Wolf Entertainment, headquartered in Universal City, Calif. He serves as executive producer on all of the company's scripted series, including "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "Chicago Fire," "Chicago P.D." and "Chicago Med."
In 2003 he produced the World Trade Center tribute "Twin Towers," which won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short. Also, he produced "When You're Strange," a Grammy Award-winning and Emmy-nominated documentary about Jim Morrison and the Doors, which premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival and made its international debut at the 2009 Berlinale Festival in Berlin, Germany. In 2010 the film earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Nonfiction Series. Jankowski received a Grammy Award as producer of the film, for Outstanding Longform Video in 2011.
Before joining Wolf Films in 1997, Jankowski served as senior vice president of Universal Television where he was responsible for all series produced under that banner, including "Northern Exposure," on the Network, "Quantum Leap" and "Coach." He produced 12 films with the Hispanic Film Project (as president, 1990-1993) and served on the board of the Hollywood Radio & Television Society.
