The late-night comic, who has been at the helm of CBS' "Late Late Show" since mid-2015, has extended his contract with CBS until the Spring of 2023, after which he will leave. The host discussed his decision while taping Thursday's broadcast of the program.

Corden has signed a new contract that will keep him installed as host of the late-night talk show through August 2022. His current contract, signed in 2014 when he was announced as the successor to Craig Ferguson, was set to expire after the 2019-20 season.

CBS will present CARPOOL KARAOKE: WHEN CORDEN MET MCCARTNEY LIVE FROM LIVERPOOL on Monday, August 20 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT). The primetime special will feature never-before-seen footage from the wildly popular “Paul McCartney Carpool Karaoke” segment which aired on THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN on June 21, during the week of shows from Central Hall Westminster in London. During the “Carpool Karaoke” segment, Corden and McCartney drove around Liverpool, visited McCartney’s childhood home.
