Nor IMDb nor zap2it are official or 100% reliable. And there's no proof, that those IMDb somehow related to show you requested.

The only official information is press releases from CMT. You was given a link to the one of the official press-releases. Now I'll just quote the official site for you:

For Hometown Heroes do you have any other proof - aside from IMDb - that it is a series.

The zap2it link that you provided on the request doesn't have any other epsiodes in the episode guide and the only thing I found on CMT aside from the upcoming one hour special was a song titled "Hometown Heroes".
