Foreign actor names

Can someone correct this person's name from the Russian spelling of her name to the English spelling of her name please?

It currently shows - Анна Пескова - http://www.tvmaze.com/people/111056/anna-peskova

It should show - Anna Peskova - like her name appears in her profile URL

More proof is here - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4193348/?ref_=fn_nm_nm_1

Thank you very much, Ron.

NOTE: It may be wrong here because it is also showing wrong over at wikipedia? I have never seen a huge name mistake like that ever before over there not sure how to let them know it needs to be fixed? - https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9F%D0%B5%D1%81%D0%BA%D0%BE%D0%B2%D0%B0,_%D0%90%D0%BD%D0%BD%D0%B0_%D0%92%D0%BB%D0%B0%D0%B4%D0%B8%D1%81%D0%BB%D0%B0%D0%B2%D0%BE%D0%B2%D0%BD%D0%B0

Oops my mistake as I was on the Russian version of Wikipedia not the U.S. version, not sure how that even happened?

Why would someone change name of russian actress, who starring only (or mostly) in russian films, from the Russian language to English, also based on some third-party source??? She had English transcription as AKA, that's enough.

It is actually fine to use actor names or episode names in foreign letters, our policy allows this, only episode and show summaries must be in English.

Looks like Juan's response to you JDOG didn't copy your original message over.

It is perfectly fine to write her name in Russian letters, only episode summaries and series summaries need to be in English.

Also her English name is written in her aka.

Why is the the only person like that, is she the exception to the rule? Can you please fine me more Russians on here that have there name in Russian and not in English because I can't?

Do we have Japanese people with their name written in Congei?

Or Chineses names written in Mandarin?

If you can't it doesn't mean, that there's none. For example http://www.tvmaze.com/shows/21033/lucsaa-nedela-moej-zizni/cast

And there's a lot more. Pick any russian TV Show here, and you find more.

What about these people all born in Russia they all have their Russian name here in English? Is it okay to have some one way and some thee other no conformity/consistancy?

Anna Kournikova

Alana Kuznetsova

Alesia Raut

Anastasia Kuznetsova

Eugenia Volodina

Irina Shayk

Kate Grigorieva

Mila Kunis

Milla Jovovich

Natasha Poly

Natalia Vodianova

Natalie Vodianova

Sasha Luss

Tanya Dziahileva

Tanya Mityushina

All foreign names should be displayed the same way not 1/2 and 1/2 that makes the site look BAD!

Those are some I found on a quick google search.

Regarding whether they should be changed, I have no comment.

OK you proved TNT's point. NOW why is it okay for the site to have Foreign names showing 2 different ways I still ask? They should all be in their Language or all be in English one or the other!

This is really a question for the STAFF to answer why they will allow it either way?

As long as the names are a complete translation i.e not changing a Italian Daniele to a English Daniel, then I can't see it been a issue to have both native and English languages allowed.

That's why I put no comment.

Anyway, I simply hadn't realised that TNT had already replied to you.

That is not my point! There is no policy that states how names show be entered so anyone can put them anyway they want to? Maybe it should be all the same across the board for all foreign names? If the site is going to allow someone to add a name in Russian or German or whatever then a policy needs to state that and especially spell out "However if you enter a name in a Foreign Format you must also always add their English name as an AKA" if they don't it's a BIG waste of time for someone to search for them!

All of them have English transcription as AKA. If you found someone, who doesn't – post them here, AKA will be added.

BTW, we have a lot of Spanish, Nordic or romanized Japanese names with non-English characters in them. Or is your problem only with Cyrillic alphabet?

NO my problem is allowing names to be allowed added in both languages it must be one way or the other regardless if it is Russian, German, Japanese, Chinese, Scandinavian any. No policy allows names to be added both ways or either way and there is no consistency in allowing that. If the site wants the names to ALL be input in RUSSIAN then I am fine with that but what I am not fine with allowing it both ways which is the way it is now! I am saying this in plain English so why is this so hard to understand?

It's not hard to understand, you've asked for a staff opinion, both me and Juan have given our opinion. That should be the end of the discussion unless Jan or David come in and over-ride us.

No policy forbids that either. If you want to continue this discussion for some reason, please create a new thread in the Chat
