The cast endpoint is currently returning dupe entires for some people. eg:

and
"person": {"id": 65651,
That's normal if one actor plays/voices multiple characters. See http://www.tvmaze.com/shows/2059/sword-art-online/cast and https://www.tvmaze.com/faq/14/show-extras.

It looks to be the same character to me : "name": "Kazuto Kirigaya", it the last two objects in the response.
"href": "http://api.tvmaze.com/characters/290945" <---- Correct data
"href": "http://api.tvmaze.com/characters/290944" <---- Dead 404
I merged some of the characters as they were the same, hence why you're getting that 404

In this instance, yes.
But David's reply is still valid; if an actor plays/voices multiple roles, you'll see them listed once for each role/character.
The only issue with the data now is I'm not sure if we'd class Kazuto Kirigaya (outside of the game), who plays Kirito in SAO (the game) as 2 separate characters or not.
