Regarding the "Set as main image" option in the bulk tool image upload: it will set the uploaded image as main, either if you check it or not (since the bulk tool will only show the episodes without pictures) so I believe it has no use :)

There's no specific point here, the bulk tool simply re-uses the layout/form field definitions from the regular page :)
It would be possible to remove it ofcourse, but not trivial, which is why I never did. Call it lazy ;-)
