A way of representing current vs past cast.

I wanna run an idea.

Casts can change often.

What do you think about having a current and past cast section for shows?

Or a current cast checkbox and past checkbox?

It's a more accurate representation for the show in it's current state and less cluttered.

I doubt I'm the only one who's had this sort of idea.  Sorry if this has indeed been discussed before.

Thanks for reading.

TVMaze list cast per episode, so it's always accurate.

I think what you're looking for is the cast list per season :) For example, https://www.tvmaze.com/seasons/111/american-horror-story-season-1 versus https://www.tvmaze.com/seasons/112/american-horror-story-season-2

Aha, that's cool.  Yes, along those lines.

It got initially brought to my attention because if you search for a show it lists three people starring in it, presumably based off of most appearances, in the results.

But what if those people aren't actually in the show anymore... It comes off as outdated.

Maybe it's something too niche I've noticed.

Right. I get what you mean, but I don't think it makes particular sense to consider that outside of the season context. For example, when a TV show kills off their main character in the final season, it doesn't change that - looking at the series as a whole - that character is still very important.

That show has ended.  I'm focusing on shows running.

All that cast you see loaded up on that linked show main page isn't even in the show anymore.

Yea, they used to be, but doesn't it make more sense that the current crop of faces be front and center for every show that's running?

And then if you want to see the past cast can click on View full cast list or View past cast list. ;)

I feel it's a better representation.
