Vikings cast

tnt posted 5 years ago

Can't help, but wonder, where are those "extended" names are came from? And while some of them seems ok, some are plain wrong, and other are confusing for the earlier seasons.

For example, Bjorn's last name isn't Ragnarsson, it's Lothbrok. So is Ragnar's. At least their TV incarnations, according to official character guide:

https://www.history.com/shows/vikings/cast/bjorn

https://www.history.com/shows/vikings/cast/ragnar

Rollo wasn't Duke of Normandy in the first seasons. Kinda weird seeing Duke of Normandy among the season 1-3 cast. And spoilery. Same goes for "Queen" Lagertha.

King Aethelwulf Ecberting of Wessex and Mercia – was he a King while Eckbert was alive? How come that we have two "Kings of Wessex and Mercia" at the same time for a good part of the show?

And so on.

What was wrong with the original character names, easy and spoiler free? If you so eager to extend it – the AKA field is the most right place to go.

I got all the names from the Fandom Viking Wiki. They have now been reduced to the more common names.

Thank you.

Designated Survivor

I'm curious, what is the source of Season 3 premiere date? Sunday seems to be an uncommon choice for Netflix, and there's no date yet in Netflix's schedule (or other usual places)...

wmulder posted 5 years ago

I found it on https://eztv.io/myshows/, and I added it to TVMaze. Although I looked for other sources after that and could not find any. It might have to be deleted until confirmed.

Yeah, probably it's the right thing to do, eztv doesn't seem to be credible on such matters :)

Hey there,

I read through both press releases, there is no way to say right now which press release has the correct information, the older one is more in depth, the newer one is more recent. As soon as the episode airs we will know for sure, as the on screen credits will be used :)

cheers

Juan

I know, I just wish tnt would not change everything. It could have been left until the airing.

From my experience with Dick Wolf shows, and I do know a little bit about those, Wolf did come up with the story.

The reason why tnt changed this is because we got this new press release and he went with what was in it :)

wmulder posted 5 years ago

I have seen every press release, that does not mean the previous ones were wrong.

JuanArango posted 5 years ago

That is true, but what do you do if press release one says something and press release two says something different, it is really not easy to make a decision then.

wmulder posted 5 years ago

press release did not say something different, they just did not give as many details on that part. They left out that Wolf also contributed, which is exactly what he has done on most of his shows. He writes the story and someone else writes the screenplay/teleplay

I also think this will be the end result, but no one of us can be 100% sure now and we will act according to the on screen display :)
