Iconic Paramount Ranch burned to the ground today as the Woosley Fire, whipped by winds of 30-60mph, burned 14,000 acres in little more than a day. The Paramount Ranch western town sets have been in use since 1927, everything from Gunsmoke to Westworld filmed on the ranch, not to mention countless movies. A few images of the damage show the town itself is a complete loss, though the church building may still be standing.
The ranch is is currently owned by the National Park Service as well as being an active filming location and is a popular tourist destination.
No word yet on if or when the sets will be rebuilt.
HBO said in a statement filming for the next season of Westworld was not in production yet and the main sets used at Melody Ranch were not affected by the fire.
