Ratings Roundup for the Week of March 30, 2025

ABC announced renewals last week for veteran shows  9-1-1, Will Trent, The Rookie, and, surprisingly, Grey's Anatomy. Freshman comedy Shifting Gears was also renewed for a second season. With that announcement, Doctor Odyssey is the only scripted show still waiting to hear its fate. Ratings for the medical drama haven't been bad, but they haven't lit up the chart either. Its future likely depends on what the network has in the pipe for next season.

CBS' schedule mostly returned to normal last week. Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage returned after a couple of weeks off, down three hundred thousand viewers. Ghosts was down one hundred thousand viewers. NCIS: Origins was down two hundred thousand viewers, while parent show, NCIS, was even. The Equaliser and Poppa's House are the only scripted shows still waiting for news on their future. The Equaliser is currently in its fifth season, which means contract negotiations. That, along with its low ratings, could spell cancellation for the series.

NBC has yet to make any big renewal announcements. So far, the standout freshman series for the network has been The Americas, which is a problem since the nature documentary was designed to be a limited-run series. Suits LA and picked up two hundred thousand viewers. Grosse Point Garden Society picked up two hundred thousand viewers for its Sunday night episode. The series has also been pushed to Friday, and aired an additional episode last week where it picked up another two hundred thousand viewers. The Hunting Party was even, though low. Found lost half a million viewers after taking a week off. Night Court lost four hundred thousand viewers last week. It's been slowly shedding viewers for the past month, making its chances for renewal iffy.

FOX announced multi-year renewals for The Simpsons, Bob's Burgers, and Family Guy last week. The three animated series will remain on the network through the 2028-29 season. Conspicuously absent from the announcement was any news regarding Grimsburg and The Great North. With the return of American Dad (which also received a multi-year deal) to the network, chances are at least one of the two will be cancelled. There was more good news for the Sunday animated shows. With the return of The Simpsons after a three-month break, all of the shows were up a few thousand viewers. Rescue HI-Surf wrapped its first season, up two hundred thousand viewers. It's been the second-highest scripted performer for the network after Doc, and it should be renewed.
