Phoebe Lancaster

A social climber by nature, Phoebe made the mistake years ago of putting her own dreams on hold after falling in love and marrying Sully. A city girl, she moved to Sullivan's Crossing with an expectation that Sully simply couldn't meet. She was smitten with the charismatic man and his talk of the great outdoors. He was unlike any man she'd ever met but ultimately, they were two different people who wanted different things out of life, and it didn't work out. Phoebe took Maggie and moved to Boston, determined to give her daughter the best education money could buy. Which is why she married Walter Lancaster, a successful and wealthy neurosurgeon. Phoebe is proud of her daughter and lives vicariously through her accomplishments. Controlling by nature, she often rubs Maggie (who likes to have control as well) the wrong way. When Maggie unexpectedly returns to Sullivan's Crossing, Phoebe is convinced she's making a mistake.
