Dick Lampard

Dick Lampard works at Goddard's Paper Factory and also plays for the local rugby team, Skelthwaite Scorpions. He is one of the lads and he is mates with Simon Goddard, Terry, Vic Snow and he also gets on well with Walter Charlton.

In 1998, whilst driving one of the wagons, Dick accidentally ran down a child outside the school on a new zebra crossing. The boy later died and Dick was distraught and faced a prison sentence. However, the inquest found that the crossing was not clearly marked and Dick was not at fault for the death. Around this time, a one night stand (Cheryl) from Whitby turned up on his door and they later married.

Following their marriage Dick and Cheryl discovered that they couldn't have children and in 2000 adopted Oscar. Dick and Oscar became close quickly but no-one could understand why Oscar did not like Cheryl.

In 2001 the situation wasn't improving and it came to a head when Oscar and Luke skipped school for the day and hurt Walter in the process. Oscar kept making up stories about being in the jungle with his dad and how his dad died there but it became too real when he revealed that he was with his Mum when she died and Oscar had loved her very much. Oscar later burnt the house down leaving them all homeless but eventually finally opened up to Dick and Cheryl what had happened and they finally became a proper family and Oscar accepted Cheryl as his mum.

In 2002 Dick saw his good friends Vic and Simion leave and he became the only original character left in the show. It was a much quieter year for him and the only real drama came when Oscar's real father got in touch saying that he wanted to see Oscar. Dick and Cheryl told Oscar and let him decide what he wanted to do but Oscar refused to see him deciding that Dick was the best dad he would have.

In 2003 it was revealed that the whole Lampard family had left the area.
