Dreamer, aka Sonia, has the mutant ability to implant memories (which she calls "dreams") into others' minds. She does so by emitting a smoke-like substance from her mouth, which enters her target's mouth and nose.
Sonia was romantically involved with John Proudstar when she first joined the underground after he rescued her. They decided that it would be best if they weren't involved as long as they were working together, but Sonia still harbors romantic feelings for him.
