Henry Scarlet

Miss Scarlet's late father, Henry, was a retired police officer who turned his hand to private investigating. A close friend of William "The Duke" Wellington and a mentor to him, Henry was steadily drinking away the profits of his own business when he suddenly died, leaving Eliza penniless. In his heyday, though, he was a much respected and admired detective and he remains very much alive in her memory.
