Michael Eddington is a security officer that was on Deep Space Nine. He was promoted ahead of Odo Ital, as Star Fleet refused his access to U.S.S. Defiant. This backfired when it turns out that Eddington's loyalty was the problem, not Odo's. Eddington defected to the Maquis, which made Benjamin Sisko obsessively angry. Sisko had enough of people defecting to The Maquis.
