Ms. LaBonz is a fourth-grade teacher at Wagstaff School and the drama advisor. She's one of the 'duller' faculty members of the school who won't tolerate any kind of nonsense, including Louise Belcher's.
As a teacher she can be very apathetic, as shown such as how she never bothered to learn Andy and Ollie Pesto's real names and a hatred of doing school-related activities outside of school hours, as with the overnight aquarium lock-up, and when Louise was in trouble at the Esther Margaret Marionette-Odeum and made to sit on the bus, she was more concerned with playing a game on her cell phone than with keeping an eye on Louise. On at least three occasions, she has stolen school supplies such as coffee filters and even a printer in broad daylight while making up an excuse for why she carried them. Despite her hatred for her job, when she thought she was about to be fired, she let out a slightly profane tirade in front of the students and Mr. Frond that she was not going anywhere before being told she was not being retired. A chainsmoker, she frequently looks for excuses to go outside to take a smoke break, which is often a source of relief for her usual disdain for her job.
However, LaBonz also has some softness in her core. When caught smoking by Zeke who asked for a cigarette since it was "cool," she had to hastily cover and tell him it as not. She loathes her job, but when it comes to her students, if it means having them hate her, she'd accept that as long as it motivates them to learn. She also sees that Louise is a good student when she wants to be and tries to motivate her, sometimes using Louise's anger and sense of vengeance to get A-grade work.
