While Vasiliy and Quinlan acquire the nuclear pit from the strigoi convoy, Eph and Alex head for New Horizons to discover it's secret. Meanwhile, Dutch leads a rebellion and finds Abraham, while in the past, Quinlan finds a moment of happiness.

Eph and Alex drive into the Philadelphia countryside. Their engine stalls and they go to a nearby car to get gas. There's no one on the streets, and Eph spots a phone on the ground. He checks it and finds video of a girl, Emily Stevens, saying that she's hiding and refusing to go. They check further on and Emily says that she doesn't understand why her parents are so excited to go to New Horizons.
