This episode focuses on the royals' rollercoaster relationship with the press, beginning with the Queen's 1953-1954 Commonwealth tour, when cameramen worked hand-in-hand with the palace. A few years later, newspaper owner Lord Altrincham was attacked for daring to publish criticisms of the Queen, but by the mid-1970s Princess Margaret's hedonistic lifestyle was the subject of increasing press attention.
