A man hires Paladin to deal with his father Esteban, who believes that he is Don Quixote. Paladin soon discovers that he has been hired in the hopes that he would kill Esteban, but would rather defend the knight errant than harm him.

At the Carlton, Paladin is fencing with an opponent as a woman looks on. Paladin's opponent Andelli is less than thrilled when Paladin scores a touch on him.
