When one of Pike's officers goes missing while on a secret mission for Starfleet, Pike has to come out of self-imposed exile. He must navigate how to rescue his officer, while struggling with what to do with the vision of the future he's been given.

I like Captain Pike. Especially the comment he made in this episode, "Whoever has the biggest stick wins, join our Federation of planets and reach for the stars, the choice is yours, or go to war."
Finally a good new Star Trek, loved the pilot, feels like 1990s with so much Star Trek series airing simultaneously.

This was one of the most blasé series premieres I have seen in a while. It was definitely a slow start, nothing to write home about in my opinion.
meh. let's hope it gets better. more Trek, less virtue signaling.
