Anne Rice's (RIP) Mayfair Witches Trilogy has always been my all-time favorite. Thirty years ago, I neither spoke nor understood much of the english language. The Witching Hour was my very first "English" book (paperback version) and I sat down with an English-French dictionary, as I was willing to learn while being entertained. This is how I've learned (and still learning), and Anne Rice's books were the most helpful. As for S1E1, I enjoyed the storytelling, and thanks to the producers for sticking to the storyline.
This is way off book. Still unsure if I like it.
Twelve minutes in before anything interesting happens. So boring. Anne Rice's writing is just plain bad.
"The darkness is here -- I fear for her, her unborn child; I fear for us all, I fear what we may have to do." The title of Anne Rice's first book in The Mayfair Trilogy is, " The Witching Hour." Thank you AMC+ for January 5 early release of this episode.
