So what has any year got to do with it? Why the hell do these scriptwriters have to ram ethnic diversity or sexual orientation down our throats (or up anywhere else for that matter)? For example, the new Doctor Who. The lady version was acceptable, but why does he have to be a black, gay person who spends the whole show grinning like a simpleton. Maybe if the writers concentrated on writing a good story and/or script, instead of concentrating on including every type of diverse people, maybe they may do a little better.
Its 2025 you clown.
Its a different interpretation obviously just like the black Little mermaid, a latino Snow White a gay guy Sami instead of sexy Heather Locklear on Dynasty. Not the first or the last time.
Ok, I give up. Since when in any fictional writing was Watson a person of colour??? Too far to swallow...
