The purported pitch from Lightning Shared Scooter Company, or LSSC, was simple. Invest in a scooter in Asia and make easy money. As people signed up to invest, they brought in friends and family. But the Better Business Bureau says it was all a ‘pyramid scheme' and Americans across the country collectively lost millions. NBC News' Anne Thompson reports. They are suing the company behind ChatGPT, OpenAI, and its CEO Sam Altman, saying they bear responsibility for their son's death.
