The Real Housewives of Melbourne commissioned for a fifth season

Foxtel today announced that its most talked about and polarising reality series The Real Housewives of Melbourne has been commissioned for a fifth season.

Produced by Matchbox Pictures, part of NBCUniversal International Studios, in conjunction with Foxtel, casting discussions have commenced for the new season.

The Real Housewives of Melbourne first launched in 2014 on Arena to rave reviews, making it the most watched reality show in Foxtel’s history. The past four seasons have been an outstanding success and Foxtel is delighted to be bringing Melbourne’s most infamous Housewives to audiences once again.

Foxtel Executive Director of Television Brian Walsh said: ‘The Real Housewives of Melbourne took Australia by storm, changing our television landscape like never before and we are delighted to bring it back for Foxtel viewers. We are continually blown away with the passionate way audiences consume this captivating series that has made household names out of Melbourne’s now infamous Housewives.

The Real Housewives of Orange County is the series that started the Real Housewives franchise which has now spawned series across the US in Miami, New York, New Jersey, Atlanta, Beverly Hills, Washington DC, Dallas and Potomac which screen on Arena the home of Housewives. Other international Housewives series include Auckland, Israel, Athens, Cheshire, Vancouver, Toronto, Johannesburg, Hungary and France.

The Real Housewives of Melbourne is the first Australian instalment of the world’s number one lifestyle reality franchise, which led the way for The Real Housewives of Sydney and provides an insider view of the lifestyles of the wealthy and extravagant women with a revealing insight into their world.

The Real Housewives of Melbourne Season 5 will stream on Foxtel and screen on Arena in 2020.
