Biggest problem for me? Decent writing, fx and everything... BUT! It was hard finding relatable characters. A story needs at least a few right off the bat they can either relate to, or root for or both. They ran some character arcs where some actually became relatable or you started rooting for them. But I think for much of the audience it was too little too late. I was tempted to stop watching after a few episodes. Like 2 or 3. But hung in there. Near the end I found more characters I liked that I thought I would after they developed character arcs. Yes, I like good character development and a slow burn writing that deep dives into development. Hell I complain about a lack of that so here I am complaining when I get it? No. While you do some "slow burn" development. At the start, give the reader or viewer someone(s) that they can immediately relate to in a sympathetic way. Root for. Then one can slow develop the others.

Want to see a masterful example of that? Look at "The Expanse". Another? Look at "Yellowstone".

I hope Y finds a home as by the end I had decided yes this I will follow.
