Netflix Cancels "Warrior Nun" After Two Seasons

Netflix has opted not to order a third season of "Warrior Nun". The decision was made a month after the Nov. 10 release of the fantasy drama's second season. Warrior Nun's second season ratings performance follows the pattern of other scripted series which have been canceled by Netflix as the streamer evaluates viewing vs. cost for their renewal decisions.

Warrior Nun just may live to fight another day. Somewhere, some way. Six months after the fantasy series' Netflix cancellation, creator and showrunner Simon Barry tweeted on Wednesday (July 28) morning that because of the fans' "combined voices, passion and amazing efforts", an "epic return" is now afoot. Sources confirm to TVLine that while no deals are in place, discussions are indeed underway to revive the series via a standalone movie or a shortened final season in order to give fans closure — but not on Netflix. It remains unclear where the project would potentially land. Read more on TVLine.

Why even pay for Netflix (I canceled after this decision on Warrior Nun)? The customers have no real say in what's good or bad. If I watch a bad show, it counts as much as a good show, so what's the point? I plan on just signing up for a free trial every 2 years to catch up on the handful of shows I want to see. A month is plenty of time now.

On the plus side, I've started reading more. Lots of good books to catch up on, and our local library is well stocked with ebooks. Don't even need to leave the house. There are no shows of interest in my watch list going forward - they were all canceled or delayed indefinitely.

Netflix cancels "Warrior Nun" after only two seasons. Among a whole slew of other cancellations of excellent series...

Bad decision Netflix. Soooo... Netflix... Netflix, Netflix, Netflix... So you have gone on your annual cancellation tear. And thrown out some good with bad. Check that... A LOT OF GOOD with some bad. AGAIN.

So. Here's the deal. I am done. No watching first season. No scratch that. NO WATCHING FIRST THREE SEASONS. If it gets past 3 then maybe, MAYYYBE I will "give it a try". I suggest everyone does the same.

Oh and the series The Witcher? Ya really screwed the pooch on that. PEOPLE TUNED IN BECAUSE THEY READ THE SERIES AND/OR PLAYED THE GAMES. So that was your ready made audience and you knew it. then you let the showrunner hire writers contemptuous of the source material. How did you ever think we couldn't tell? And how did you ever think that writers room contempt wouldn't "get out"? So... Last season with Cavill I will watch. Done after that. Blood Origin? Yeah fans aren't impressed so I will save my time even watching it. Because no doubt written by hacks trying to "make it their own" with contempt for the genius original source.

Another reason to generally be DONE with Netflix. What Netflix? Didya go to the "Elon Musk How to Turn Around Twitter" school of entertainment/communications management?

Course then Netflix you may want to readjust your cancel parameters accordingly taking into account people will be watching less of your first runs anyways... On principle and caution. I mean... Why like something that is very good and well written and get invested when it will very likely get the axe by a network stuck in the past looking for the kind of viewer percentages when they was only 3 networks and the WHOLE pie was only sliced 3 ways in primetime? Didja not get the memo Netflix?

You ARE one of the new networks slicing that pie so many more ways.

Ironic cluelessness.
