'Bullseye' Commissioned for a full series following success of ITV1 Christmas Special

Following the success of the specials late last year, ITV can today announce that Bullseye with Freddie Flintoff, plus Romesh Ranganathan’s Parents’ Evening with Romesh Ranganathan have both been recommissioned for full seasons and are due to air later this year on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player.

The one off Bullseye special, which aired over the festive period last year and drew in audiences of over 8.6 million, and saw cricketing legend and darts fan Freddie host the return of this family favourite show.

The 2024 Christmas special saw over 30,000 fans applying for their chance to play a bit of Bully, and the iconic game show has now been commissioned for 4 x 60 minute episodes and a 2025 Christmas special (1 x 60 minute).

The programme will follow the original format with the playing teams made up of an amateur dart player, known as the ‘thrower’, and their team partner, the ‘knower’. They will combine their skills, throwing darts at different game boards, whilst answering questions correctly for ‘points and prizes’.

This brand new series, produced by ITV Studios, will also see professional darts players taking to the oche to help along the contestants and the return of Master of Ceremonies Richard Ashdown. Bullseye will be distributed internationally by ITV Studios.

Freddie Flintoff said: “I love the darts and Bullseye was one of my favourite shows as a kid.  I was really pleased people seemed to like the Christmas special and so now I’m thrilled I get to host the series. You can't beat a bit of Bully!”

Joe Mace, Entertainment Commissioning Editor said: "Following the success of the Bullseye Christmas special last year, we're thrilled to have commissioned an additional four episodes and a Christmas special for ITV viewers to enjoy this year. And we are delighted that Freddie will be returning as host to entertain our audiences and darts fans alike."

Both series have been commissioned by Katie Rawcliffe, Director of Entertainment & Daytime Commissioning ITV and Joe Mace, Entertainment Commissioning Editor ITV.
