Bernie Mac (born Bernard Jeffrey McCullough) was an American comedian, actor, producer, author, and humanitarian.
On July 19, 2008, Mac was admitted to the Northwestern Memorial Hospital in his hometown of Chicago. After being treated in the ICU for three weeks, Mac went into cardiac arrest and subsequently died during the early morning hours on August 9, at the age of 50.
