Fletcher was born and raised in Los Angeles by his parents Julia Fletcher and John DeMita who are both actors. He began performing on stage around the age of 10.
Fletcher went to an all-girls middle school and high school. He came out to his parents as transgender on August 21, 2013 on the second day of his senior year.
In Season 3, Fletcher joined the cast of Faking It as Noah, a transgender teen and new student at Hester. In April 2016, it was announced that Fletcher would be joining the cast of The Fosters in a recurring guest-starring role as Aaron, an "attractive and intriguing law student" and potential romantic interest of Callie (Maia Mitchell).
