Sergio Basañez, was born on May 4 1970, in Poza Rica, Veracruz, Mexico. He has a brother named, Carlos, and a sister named María de los Angeles. Besides from being an actor, he is also a lawyer. His first big role was in 1992's "Sueños de Amor" (1993). In 1998 he did an excelent job in "Mentira, La" (1998). In 1999 he went to TV Azteca, and starred with Silvia Navarro in "Catalina y Sebastian" (1999), "Calle de las Novias, La" (2000), and his most excellent work to date, Cuando seas mía (2001), which is a remake of "Café con Aroma de Mujer". He is now starting in Un nuevo amor (2003), alongside Vanessa Acosta as Isabel, and Karen Senties as Valentina Méndez.
