Sofia Boutella

Born in the Bab El Oued, Algeria, Sofia Boutella began classical dance education at age five, at age ten, after moving to France she began rhythmic gymnastics, making the French national team in her late teens, and graduating from Berklee College of Music. She also moved into hip hop and street dance, and began appearing in television ads. She landed her first big break at the age of 24 in an ad campaign for Nike. The success of that campaign led to work as a touring dancer for the likes of Rihanna and Madonna, and in 2012 a starring role in the dance film StreetDance 2.
