Born in Toronto, Ontario, Meegwun Fairbrother is Ojibway and is a traditional singer and dancer. As a youngster he lived in many First Nations communities in northern Ontario, completing high school in Kenora before being accepted into the York University acting conservatory in 2005. He first appeared in a 2007 episode of Dancing with Spirit, and is widely known for his roles as Butterhead in Mohawk Girls, and Officer Owen Beckbie in Burden of Truth.
