Scott Olynek was born in Montréal, Québec, Canada but moved to Calgary, Alberta, Canada when he was 14 months old. He attended secondary school in Calgary, then went on to Mount Royal College, where he graduated with a diploma in Theatre Performance, and then on to the University of Alberta in Edmonton where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting with distinction.
