Angelika Langen

Angelika Langen co-founded the Northern Lights Wildlife Society in Smithers, British Columbia, Canada with her husband Peter in 1990. There they rehabilitate all kinds of wildlife in trouble, from playful river otters to stoic moose.

Since 2007, the Northern Lights Wildlife Society, the Government of British Columbia, and IFAW have partnered in a pilot project to determine the viability of rehabilitating and releasing orphaned grizzly bears into the wild.

It is the first such project for grizzlies in the world.
