Zoe Saldaña

Born in Passaic, New Jersey, Zoe Saldana was raised in Queens until the age of 10, when her family moved to the Dominican Republic. There she studied ballet and other forms of dance at the prestigious ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy until she was 17 when the family moved back to New York. She began performing with the Faces theater troupe and also the New York Youth Theater where she was scouted for a talent agency, her acting and and dance experience helped her land her first major role as Eva Rodriguez in the 2000 film Center Stage.
