Anne Rice, born Howard Allen Frances O'Brien in New Orleans, Louisiana, was an author of gothic fiction, Christian literature, and erotica. Her most famous works are the series of novels, The Vampire Chronicles, revolving around the central character of Lestat. Interview with the Vampire and Queen of the Damned were turned into feature films.
