Hugh Hudson

Born in London, England, Hugh Hudson graduated Eton, served in the military and began a career in advertising producing and directing TV commercials. Between 1963 and 1979 he directed various shorts including A...Is for Apple, and The Tortoise and the Hare. In 1979 he was given the opportunity to direct his first feature film, Chariots of Fire, which went on to win four Academy Awards.

Hugh Hudson died at the age of 86 after a brief illness.
