Gavan O'Herlihy

Born in Dublin, Ireland, Gavan O'Herlihy and family moved to the USA early in his life. He graduated from the Phillips Academy in Massachusetts and returned to Dublin to study at Trinity College. An avid tennis player since his youth, he became the Irish National Tennis Champion. Returning to the USA, he made his acting debut in 1973, in episodes of Call to Danger and The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and caught his big break in 1974, with the recurring role of Chuck Cunningham in Happy Days.

Gavan O'Herlihy died at age 70, no cause of death was given.
