Brad Winderbaum is an American producer, director, writer, and cinematographer. He is the Head of Streaming, Television and Animation at Marvel Studios. He was formerly a VP of Production & Development at Marvel Studios.
Winderbaum's career path to Marvel began in Rockland County, New York, where, as a youngster, he first became interested in comic books and science fiction movies. While earning a BFA in Studio Art from New York University, he spent his time creating large-scale drawings of parallel worlds and staging underground theater productions. Winderbaum went on to receive an MFA in Film Production from the University of Southern California.
In 2007, Winderbaum became a pioneer in the online space by creating a forum for interactive dramas called "itsallinyourhands", in which the choices of the characters were decided by the viewing audience. His sci-fi thriller, Satacracy 88, which he wrote and directed, received an Emmy Award for Outstanding Broadband Drama and a Webby People's Choice Award for Best Film and Video Dramatic Series. The second season earned a Daytime Emmy nomination (for Outstanding New Approaches Daytime Entertainment) the following year.
He joined the Marvel Universe during production of the company's first feature, Iron Man, and most recently produced the 2022 blockbuster Thor: Love and Thunder. Before that, he co-produced Ant-Man (2015), and executive produced Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and Black Widow (2021).
During his tenure with Marvel, Winderbaum spear-headed the Marvel One-shot program, serving as co-producer on The Consultant and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer, as executive producer on Item 47, Agent Carter, All Hail the King, and later as producer on Team Thor and Team Darryl. He helped develop the studio's growing continuity exploring the interconnectivity throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and created behind the scenes documentaries and interactive campaigns for Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger and Marvel's The Avengers.
On television he serves as executive producer on What If...?, Marvel Studios: Assembled, Hawkeye, Moon Knight, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Echo, Ironheart, Marvel Zombies, Spider-Man: Freshman Year, and Wonder Man.
