Born in Nigeria to diplomatic parents Chukwudi Iwuji attended boarding school in England, earning his undergrad degree in economics from Yale University, but, drawn to a career in acting he enrolled at a drama school in Wisconsin, before returning to the UK in 2001 where he successfully began performing at the Royal Shakespeare Company. In 2005 he landed the recurring role of Zeke Zaria (credited as Chuk Iwuji) in the series Proof, as well as guest spots in Casualty and The Slavery Business, which allowed him to get a feel for the industry.
